Brand Story
NIPPON Genetics began as a specialised laboratory supplier with a clear conviction: routine molecular biology could be made both safer and more efficient. That conviction is most visible in the two product families for which the brand is best known.
The first is Midori Green, a nucleic acid stain positioned as a safer alternative to ethidium bromide, the mutagenic dye that generations of scientists handled daily at the gel bench. The second is Blue/Green LED illumination for gel documentation — replacing UV transillumination, which damages both DNA samples and unprotected skin. More than 3,800 FastGene Blue/Green LED imaging systems have been sold worldwide, an adoption figure that reflects how squarely the products answered a real laboratory need.
