Hangzhou Bioer Technology Co., Ltd. is a Chinese molecular-diagnostics manufacturer founded in 1998 and headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Bioer holds a singular place in its home market: the company achieved the first PCR in China in 1998 and obtained the country’s first qPCR registration certificate in 2002. Its products today serve laboratories in over 150 countries.

Brand Story
Bioer’s history maps almost exactly onto the history of PCR in China. Founded in Hangzhou in 1998 — the year it ran what it describes as the country’s first PCR — the company built domestic thermal cycling capability at a time when the technique was still the preserve of imported instruments. Four years later it held China’s first qPCR registration certificate, and it has remained a fixture of the country’s molecular-diagnostics industry ever since.
The company reinvests more than 15% of revenue into R&D and holds over 100 patents — figures that show up in a product line covering the full molecular workflow: extraction, amplification, detection and the reagents that run on all three. Recent milestones extend that base in two directions: veterinary diagnostics, with a Ministry of Agriculture approval in 2023, and regulated European clinical diagnostics, with CE-IVDR certification of its HPV testing kits — one of the more demanding regulatory frameworks in the field.
